For the last few days, I catch myself staring at my son, marveling at how much he’s grown in the last year. Its not just how much he’d grown physically even though he is my little big boy. Its how much he’s grown mental and emotionally. There are things that a year ago he would have cried about but now asks about and accepts my answer for. He understands how to wait and even has better patience than I do. His memory is off the charts on stuff and people he has encountered only once. Its kinda scary sometimes. It could be because he is my son but he seems and acts alot older than his age. (mostly) Our conversations now consist of who is faster, my car or lightening mcqueen. (the main character from the Disney movie Cars) And of course he always wins. It really is a joy to have him around all the time if for no other reason than the random things he says. For instance, we were driving home and he says, “Daddy, do you like chicken? Cause I loooooooove chicken!” Its for that reason that I can go through hell at work and see him and have it all melt away. Sometimes I just sit down and watch him and I enjoy every second of it because he’s always getting into something or having an adventure in his own little world. Sometimes he lets me join him.
