Peeing on Rocks

Due to some scheduling stuff with Aden’s mom and me, Aden and me actually spent some time by the lake. I’ve never seen the lake all frozen the way it was.

Most of that is ice that wasn’t there last June. Looks like something from Happy Feet don’t it? Anyway Aden wants to get out of the car and take a walk. I figure that is not all that cold so off we go. Aden of course wants to jump in the water or at least dangle his feet off the edge. I didn’t feel like fishing him out of the water once the ice ledge broke so we just hopped on a rock and took a picture.

All was fine and dandy until right after I took the picture. Aden’s smile quickly fade to a look of concern as he turns to me and tells me that he’s peeing. And sure enough I see a wet shadow make its way down his jeans and run off his cowboy boots into a puddle on the rock.

After we both have a good laugh about how perfectly it rolled off his boots and not in them, and proceed to clean up. And me being the always prepared and responsible parent had no extra clothes to switch him into. So I did the next best thing, I started the car, put the heat on full blast, took off his pants and laid the wettest spot on the hottest part of the vent blowing the hot air hoping to dry them out hand dryer style. While I waited for the pants to finish in my own makeshift dry cleaner, I ventured into the area of randomness known as my trunk. I luckily found one of his old windbreaker jackets, a towel, and a pair of his shorts. (which fit quite well might I add) While I was doing my rummaging Aden waited patiently as I put the windbreaker in his car seat for him to sit on, put his shorts on, and tried to dry up what I could with the towel. He was loving it because he got to run around in my backseat. I finally got him settled in and by the time we got to our destination, his pants had dried. But still had some fruity pee smell. Aden must have drank some pineapple juice. On our way, I made sure to stop and get some chicken nuggets . He was all smiles.
