Life Seasons

Life Seasons

Life happens like the cycles of seasons

And things happen in it for many different reasons

When you are young its summer and you have lots of fun

But summers turns to fall and its all done

For the summer was your youth were you learned and played away your days

But you grow older in the fall, and like the leaves, play decayed

The leaves of your life soon change color and fall

More responsibilities, less fun and your getting kinda tall

This season of your life, winter must be the worst

You’ve been dumped, fired, and evicted.  You feel mighty cursed

The snow of misfortune falls heavy like a million blizzards

And you meet only bad people with blood cold as a lizards

The nights get longer and your days shorter in your life

You’ve gone through alot of hardships and strife

Its gets a little warmer as spring shows some light

You soon know that goodtimes are on the way and you have a reason to fight

Slowly buy surely the snow and ice melt

And the warmth seems to fade away the pain and hurt you felt

Spring is now here, the brunch between winter and summer

Fresh new growth in life, a new song, a new band, with a hell of a drummer

Melting ice gets brushed aside to make room for your feet

And sometimes your butt as you sit in the street

The days are now longer, the street lights get a break

More cookouts fill the yards, bring on the steaks

Reported cases of cabin fever sharply decline the closer summer comes

And the party goers dance wildly to the beat of solar drums

That cold winter alone is only remembered as a bad dream

That you’ve awoken from long ago as you feel your heart beam

Love holds your hand once again and leads you down the road of happiness

You promise not to lose your grasp this time even through a snapped wrist

So you buy a ring for the finger of your fling

And by the time you get the courage to ask, summer’s last song is about to sing

You pop the question on the first day of fall, it must have been a sign

Cause as you got down on one knee, like the seasons, she changed her mind

You feel a chilly breeze as she declines your request

And your heart catches up with your body and you feel a chill in your chest

The seasons again have gone full circle pulling your life in tow

And you slip back into your seasonal depression, around and around you go
