You Taught Me

Here is a quick shout out to a few people who have taught me some lessons in life (Whether I wanted to learn them or not).  I’ll always love you all for your lessons because I wouldn’t be who I am without them. The people should know who they are but if they don’t it doesn’t really matter.

You taught me that normal is nothing and nothing is normal
You taught me I wasn’t the center of everything
You taught me that I could and should be loved
You taught me that being rich doesn’t make you a bitch
You taught me that letting go wasn’t completely possible
You taught me my limits
You taught me comfort

You taught me that giving birth doesn’t make somebody good
You taught me that I didn’t know it all or even as much as I thought I did
You taught me that I never had to settle for what I was used to
You taught me not to be stuck in my ways
You taught me to better than you (if possible)
You taught me what you could with the little time you’ve had
You taught me not to be so cold
You taught me to see the future coming
You taught me to be more than a man

You taught me that some suns can shine brighter without me
You taught me a love I wasn’t ready for
You taught me not to trust my mind too much
You taught me to feel the extremes
You taught me to free myself
You taught me its ok to be myself
You taught me that I can’t read everybody
You taught me that logic is only logic

You taught me untrust
You taught me how to get through heartbreak
You taught me forgiveness
You taught me to react to the patterns of life
You taught me to learn from my mistakes
You taught me to be cold
You taught me to be ambitious
You taught me hate
You taught me to do what you say, not what you do
You taught me that people talk alot but say very little
You taught me be a loner
You taught me that we get alot more than our genes from our ancestors

You taught me hope
You taught me that it was ok to be alone
You taught me that I was a dad before Aden
You taught me family
You taught me brotherhood
You taught me that happiness doesn’t have to be attempted
You taught me to teach

You taught me that I existed outside myself
You taught me that love for only one at a time was possible
You taught me to recognize myself in a living mirror
You taught me that I didn’t want my dream
You taught me to grow up quick
You taught me to change
You taught me an addict’s mind
You taught me my own faults
You taught me to look from the opposite parent perspective
You taught me that I was stronger than I know
You taught me temptation
You taught me to lie
You taught me transforming friendship

You taught me genius
You taught me I could be better
You taught me loyalty to family
You taught me that somepeople like their ruts
You taught me that love isn’t good for you, but you still need it
You taught me that one person can do the impossible
You taught me fustration and dissappointment

You taught me that nerds are the best
You taught me that beauty and brains were more likely that I thought
You taught me we all have problems
You taught me that I couldn’t help anybody
You taught me to argue alot better
You taught me that I would never beat you in an arguement
You taught me that sometimes you have to give up

You taught me how to live
You taught me that I’ll never be rid of you

You taught me to see with more than my eyes
