In 10 minutes it will technically be my birthday. Thats right, I will officially be 25. Still young by standard standards but I still feel a lot more wiser. Now when one thinks about their birthday, they usually look back at their last birthday. I won’t be any different. Last year’s birthday was filled with happy birthday texts, emails, calls, and myspace and facebook posts. It makes one feel loved. I went out to dinner with a few friends and a special guest and had a good time. Life was very different back then. It was right before the grand ole year of 2007 was about to hit and change my view on everything and teach me lessons I was ready to learn and a few that I still need to learn before I get tested on them. Here are a few:
– My soulmate (and you know who you are) and me aren’t destined to be together just because we are soulmates
– Never ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever say something can’t or won’t happen
– Be yourself and fuck anybody who doesn’t like you
– No sacrifice, no victory
– Maturity has nothing to do with age
– Go with your instincts, they are there for a reason
– Push farther than you are comfortable
– Take time to sit back and let your mind wander, the souvenirs are awesome
– Keep smiling and your reason to do so will appear
– Some people grow up all of a sudden
– An investment in others and yourself are the best you can make
– Negative is automatic
– Love is optional
– Women are VASTLY different from men, VASTLY!
– There are amazing people out there
– Keep the most important thing, the most important thing
– Sure things sometimes aren’t
– People will always return to your life from places you would never expect
– Stay true to yourself and don’t sell out to somebody else
– Dating is the devil
– Everything in moderation
– Have standards in everything you do
– Everybody serves a purpose in your life, whether it be to show you what to do or not to do or what to never do ever again
– Be nice to everyone
– Feel good
– Let people in your life know how special they are to you
– Speak your mind when appropriate
– Pregnancy is the shit, and alot can be learned about this special time when life is being grown
– Show the Plan!
– Dig your well before your thirsty
– Always try to help people
– Pay tithes
– Always look into a person’s eyes
Well thats all of the ones I feel like typing. In other news, I fell in love with somebody all over again from just remembering the look in her eyes. I’ll never go after her but she will read this and know who she is. I also realized that I’m not ready for my wife yet but I’m working on it. I will be working on becoming alot more efficient this year. Ok this is starting to sound like a New Years Resolution. I’ve been reunited with a really good friend as a of late and I forgot how much fun she was. Halo 3 was never so much fun. My shower drain is working again!!! My exam was pushed back a week!! And I think I might spoil myself and get a digital camera for my birthday. In other news, my bed feels kinda lonely. I miss the warm touch of another body, the unpredictable movements and repositioning throughout the night. The ladies at my job really surprised me by buying my balloons and a birthday cake and got me candy and even sang. They are all mommy’s and I’m like the baby working there. Today was one of those days when you feel like your on top of the world and nothing could go wrong. Goodbye 24 year old Ben, we barely knew thee.
