On a diet of worry, uncertainty, and fears<\/p>\n
You watch me move toward dreams and aspirations<\/p>\n
With a disapproving look, you cause me hesitations<\/p>\n
I wish you would just leave and run away<\/p>\n
Disappear altogether and become a stray<\/p>\n
My actions betray my wishes as I keep your bowl full<\/p>\n
I give you what you need, how could you resist that pull<\/p>\n
I care for you better than I do for myself<\/p>\n
And I keep you on a pedestal, high on the shelf<\/p>\n
Because even if you should fall you won’t meet defeat<\/p>\n
Everybody knows cats always land on their feet<\/p>\n
I tried to lock you out with books with pages of locks<\/p>\n
But your ship always comes back in with me sitting on the dock<\/p>\n
I tried to fight fire with water so I got a dog, fearless and apathetic<\/p>\n
But you turned that Pit into a Poodle with facts and what could happen, pathetic<\/p>\n
Assassination was my next plan, you can’t nag if your not alive<\/p>\n
But you had too many lives, I gave up around five<\/p>\n
So I just decided to give up and not to fight it<\/p>\n
