Sometimes people are around for a brief time, sometimes for life, and it's hard to predict who's a lifer because you never can tell what situation will alter that friendship forever. It amazes me that I live 2100 miles away from the people that I'm closest to, while the people who are my friends here, don't know the half of it! I guess that's just the way it works. All you can do is try to see what each friendship, weather it's brief or lifelong, brings to your life and enjoy it while it's there. Friendships are a funny thing.
